Straight Up Kayaks

For the State of Indiana do I need a license to use kayaks?

My mom bought kayaks to use on the rivers and lakes in Indiana, does she need a license or permit? I tried looking it up on Indiana DNR website but couldn't find anything. Please Help!!

1. Contact you're local Department of Natural Resources There should be a phone number available to you. Most States require some kind of registration to use any type of Boat on State Lakes & Rivers.
2. normally non motorized boats don't need a license.
3. It's not DNR it's DOT. You need an inland waters kayaking permit. You should be able to get these at your post office.
