What are good crafts or sites with realistic crafts for birch bark, besides canoes (achievable please)?
It's probably not high quality birch bark but we've got some big curly strips from our birch tree we just cut down. I want to use it for something! I do simple woodwork projects, are there any ways I can incorporate it into those? But I would like a simple craft project.

- www.diynetwork.com www.hgtv.com They have pictures and step by step instructions with links to the artists but quick answer...... Drill holes into rectangles cut to the same length, Lace together with leather, hang them over a ready made lampshade or fit them to a frame wire and drilling holes across the topp, lace over the frame and you have a bark lampshade. Lace two recatngular pieces together with a loop left over to hang the pocket on the wall and put dried flowers in it. Use them for scrap book or journal covers the same way with wood burned names, dates or sentiments on them.
