What is the average weight of canoes, kayaks, and rowboats?
Which one would be easiest to be carried about 250' to the river's edge by one person?

- canoes, kayaks one person easy row boat might take 4 to 6
- Kayaks can be anywhere from 35-60 lbs on average. Good Kayaks are made of light layered poly/plastics (like mine). The lightest Kayaks are expensive and are made out of carbon fiber etc. and are painted and hence can be easily damaged. Canoes are heavy at 70-100 lbs, also tandem Kayaks can way this much as well. Rowboats are fairly light in some cases when smaller and made from aluminum. Average weight is 50-60 lbs. A great website : paddling.net
- Kayak or light weight canoe. The kayak will be the most fun. Rowboats will not be able to be carried by one person.
