What are the french canoes called?
Well I always see in movies/shows/cartoons those canoes where a boy and a girl sit in it and the french person in the back standing rowing the boat, I am wondering what they are called so i can look up pictures because I want to draw them for an assignment in art class

- I'm thinking gondola too, because you mentioned a person standing in the back rowing. Are you looking for the French bateau, pl. bateaux? Seems to be used to refer to many kinds of boats, but has a specific reference to a shallow flat bottomed canoe-like boat with a sharply pointed bow and stern. I'm not aware that they stand to row them. http://www.abcfunny.com/PicsView.php?T=moteurs&D=bateaux&Page=3&Num=67
